The Idea:
During my last visit to India in February 2001 - it was the 15th - I went to see my old friend Stephen. He is a Yoga teacher and lives in the beautiful fisher village of Kovalam at India's south point.

But how much had the traditional hippie place changed after a few years! All kinds of tourists were refreshing themselves in the cooling waters of the Indian Ocean and in the evenings in the simply styled restaurants with Indian and international cuisine. Depending on the taste they chose between beer and fresh fish or between lime water and rice meal.

In spite of surfing and boat trips, various day trips and many new hotels, Kovalam has kept its heart and its coconut palms. Kovalam is a place where you feel at home very quickly. To many visitors saying 'good bye' to this place is getting hard.

According to Venu, (a native who was born here) Kovalam needs an Ashram in the sense of health, positive energy, Yoga practice and meeting-point. It maybe said however not everyone visiting India wants to visit Ashrams and to change his own life rhythm to the rhythm of an Ashram life.

This was the reason for developing an offer:

* To exhausted India travellers who want to regenerate themselves in Kovalam.

* For travellers who want to start their Indian visit in a smooth way in a world, where orient and occident exist side by side.

* For vacationists, who wish to retire from their daily routine for some 2-3 weeks and who want to learn Yoga at the place of its origin.

Who are we:
Venu, a "real" local from Kovalam and the "Green Valley" hotel manager, Stephen, Yoga teacher from Kerala and myself, Yoga teacher from Germany with Indian Yoga teacher education.

The idea is not to intervene in your self organized stay, but to enrich it through Yoga, meditation practice and massage.
